The ESPACE^®PRECES collection has been available since 1993. Originally the disk was designed as a common publication of five countries: Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania. After the division of Czechoslovakia the PRECES cooperation covers Czech and Slovak patent documents as well. In 1996 two other industrial property offices the Latvian and the Lithuanian joined to the cooperation. At that time the publication was supported by the European Community's PHARE aid program in the framework of the Regional Industrial Property Information Programme (RIPP).

There are two different options for finding patent documents in the ESPACE^® PRECES CD-ROM title:

Bibliography of Patents from the Region of Eastern and Central European States

The ESPACE^® ACCESS PRECES CD-ROM title has been designed as an index to the ESPACE^®PRECES collection similarly to other ESPACE^® ACCESS products. The search tool offers you complete bibliographic information on all granted patents from the region of Eastern and Central European States. All records in ESPACE^®ACCESS PRECES include searchable titles and searchable English abstracts if available. It is well suited for a quick state-of-the-art search on all granted patents from the region.

ESPACE^®PRECES is produced on the same MIMOSA platform as the other members of the ESPACE^® series.
MIMOSA is the Windows based software developed for the Trilateral Offices (the Japanese Patent Office, the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office).
While having been designed to handle mixed-mode data, it is fully compatible with all existing ESPACE^® products.
The MIMOSA V6 application software can be installed directly in four languages (English, French, German, and Russian from the CD-ROM under Windows operation systems.
